Worlds '99

Trip dates: July 25 - August 16, 1999
Round trip distance: A heckuva lot.  More, even, than I jog every morning to achieve the awesome level of physical fitness I currently enjoy.  (Turns out to be 4597.7 miles)
Tournaments: Am Worlds, Pro Worlds
Courses played Sioux Passage, Waterworks, Rosedale, Olathe, Swope, Sooner Park, Douglas Park, Hudson Mills (Regular), Black Creek, Genesee, Chili, Ellison, Brent Hambrick, Mt. Airy

We played a whopping 14 courses on this trip (unless I missed some or can't count...), 10 of which are new (!!) to us and 2 of which are probably already gone (*poof*) from the face of the earth... for now. I'm pretty surprised that I'm nowhere near burned out on disc golf right now (but I was burned out from the road and was mundo ready to be home).

Anyway, we had a great time on the trip, met a billion cool people, played some good (and far more extremely bad) golf, used a whole lot of diesel, ate far too many choco tacos, and generally had a really good time. I'm not positive where we finished up, I think I took 110th at am worlds and something like 164th at pro. Todd was slightly (although not terribly) worse at each. I'd look it up right now but KC DGC's website isn't answering my knocks. Either the machine's down or they're too snooty to talk to me. Possibly both.

James Smith, recently bribed to join us on Team Lynx, finished 12th or so (again, net troubles, eh?) in Am and just barely missed the cash (but not the cut) in pro.

Other Wills Parkers... Ryan Renz, who had a room to himself until we barged in (which reminds me to put a check in my wallet so I can pay him tomorrow... see, who says the net's nothing but a waste of time?) and whose nipples may still be frozen, fell 4 shots from the bucks, which has gotta be easier than Jeff Pruett, who was one skimpy little shot from paying for part of his trip.  Jesse Hulen fell into that elite few who cashed but didn't have to get up early to play on Saturday.

Sheesh, all these new courses are hard to add...   what to do next... hmm.  (I hope they keep making these ellipses, I love 'em). Ok, that's enough for now.  It's five new ones and it's time to go to sleep.  I'll do the others later...
