Kansas City.

Oh yes.  Kansas City.

We're back home.  Thank goodness.

Kansas City.

Why can't I avoid the foul pits of my worst game in KC?  I'm known the worl--err, city over for shooting some powerfully poor golf, but ohhhh, Kansas friggin' City sure seems to bring out the worst in me.

The tournament was great, though, with the exception of playing that 7:30 am Sunday round.  That was bearable, though, because the final 9 was great.  Climo had a 1 shot lead going in over Barry Schultz and LaRon Harris and Stokely were a bit farther back.  Barry birdied 12, 13, 14, and 17 (?) (being the first 4 holes of the final 9) to charge past Kenny, and he never looked back.  The real turning point was hole 14, Barry was up by 1 and had put his drive about 50 feet right of the basket,  Climo had parked a Roc about 25 feet out.  Barry hit his putt, Climo missed his (!!!), instead of being tied it was a 2 shot lead.

Anyway, Schultz hit 2 or 3 long putts and pretty much tore up the final 9, LaRon had a great final 9 as well (that 3 putt aside) and the crowd was seriously into it.  It was probably the most fun golf I've ever seen played.  My ultra-conservative estimate says about 300 people were watching the finals, it was probably more.  There were a reasonable number of people there that didn't play in the tournament (honest-to-goodness spectators), local disc golfers out to see the pros.  Very cool.

Anyway, Team Lynx didn't exactly tear it up.  Well, I should say James was there and shot really well (big shock), but me and Todd were there, too (unfortunately).  James finished solidly in the cash at 18th and Todd finished a respectable dead-ass-last in open, while I beat Todd and one other player.  (To be fair, I did have to shoot a mind-numbing (and tournament-worst round) 68 in the final 18 at Waterworks (where that morning I'd shot a 52) to do so, but hey, when things get down to it, the great ones find what it takes to make that charge to the back of the pack.  That last round cost me about 100 PDGA points, in case you're counting.  Not that it really matters, if you play enough supertours, those 12 and 15 points start to add up.  Ahem.

Oh, but on Friday me and Todd played doubles and were in a 6-some first round with Scott Stokely and Evan Brummett, and LaRon Harris and his partner whose name escapes me (Todd something?).  That was fun. We shot OK that round and Scott and Evan only beat us by 2 (and I had 2 putts all the down in the basket that came out), so that was cool. We had some problems second round in the alternate shot part (back to back 5's, I believe), but didn't come in last (and I think would've won the advanced field).  Anyway...
