Springtime for Hitler...

I've gotta admit something.  See the ellipsis there?  Huh?  No, the three dots after Hitler.  (Yeah, I was an english minor, sue me.  I proudly dodged all those grammar-type classes and managed to avoid learning things like, oh, well, what a gerund is, for instance.)  Anyway, I typed the whole thing originally as Springtime for Hitler, and Germany... before getting rid of the Germany part, so I had to retype the ellipsis, except it wasn't in italics so I had to go back and italicize my three dots.  Guess what.   There really is a difference (at least in this font).  Amazing.

And amazing was that tournament in ol' SC.  (Heckuva segue, huh? Ok, get this.  I have the slightest tinge of doubt as to how to spell seg-way so I check my handy dandy dictionary and, whoops, it's not in there as segue.  So I check every other spelling I can imagine.  Nothing.  I check the standard unix dictionary (/usr/dict/words or, in FreeBSD, /usr/share/dict/words.  I don't know how many words are in my OAD (my quick estimation puts it in the neighborhood of 60,000) but /usr/dict/words has over 234,000 so it's reasonably comprehensive) and it ain't there.  Annoying.  I check Microsoft Word and it's there, all happy and reasonably pleased to see me.)

Oh yeah, forgot I was beginning myself a brand new paragraph there.  Walter Haney won the open (and it took me ten minutes to find his name...  found it on the RADL page, the results from last year's Dogwood.  I knew I'd recognize it.),   Carlton Howard was 2nd and Ryan was 3rd (uhh, I think.  He might've been 4th, but I'll go ahead and give him the benefit of the doubt.  I could've told you for sure but I was out throwing during the awards).  I finished in the depths of open,  Brett either plastic-ed or came close in advanced (thinking back, he probably didn't, but...) and Todd, Gregg, and Hake brought up the rear.

It rained most of the day Saturday; we even had a lightning delay during the first round, a first for me.  Sunday it was absolutely beautiful, 70 degrees and sunny.  Didn't help my game, of course, but it sure was more fun to play.  I think local locked his keys in his car.  I think Kevin did, too. (Oh yeah, I think Kevin finished 2nd or 3rd in advanced... the results are a' tricklin' in)

In an effort to take our minds of our collective cesspools-of-a-tournament, we played Mystery Skins (tm) during the last round (me, Brett, Todd, Gregg, and Hake).  Brian (who's Brian?  He's Hake in those name lists) and Gregg got a shot per hole and cleaned up. I won 0 skins.  Brett won 0 skins.  Todd took one hole and Gregg and Brian split the rest.  Dammit.  Good thing we were playing a dime a hole instead of a quarter.

Atlanta actually had a really big group there (again), a whole bunch of us were bringing up the rear in open, but in addition to Ryan I think Jo and Dennis did really well (again, I was throwing, dammit).  I bet Jim has the results, go check...
