Ryan on Fire Ants
Ahh, those remote control devices are wonderful aren't they? Meriwether in May is awesome to say the least. The course is in full bloom, and you have to stay on the fairway to score, or you can do like most of the golfers who come here and bitch about the tight fairways not being "fair". Look folks, the trees were there before you were, they didn't grow after you threw your shot. You hit the tree with your disc, the tree didn't hit your disc. Remember that, and remember to stop talking while people are putting, it is just plain rude. Anywho, the Fire Ant Tournament went of well again, John David really knows what he is doing, and I guess he should since he has been doing this for like 19 years now. Larry has been gracious enough again to let us use his backyard for another year, and we really need to make sure that when we go down there that we pay the $5.00 fee, it is the best course in the Atlanta area y'know. We had a slight (1 hr+) rain delay between the first and second rounds, and if it wasn't for Wes C's entertainment, we would have had a very boring time. Tee hee. The rest of the weekend was very humid, the last round bordered on insanity. Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Am bagger doesn't win and said "I'm going pro"!!! That is right folks, Mike D. who I believe took third in the Am division signed up for Hotlanta after the tournament in the pro open division. Also, Wills local Scott E. also decided that he has had enough of the Am action, and signed up as a pro as well. Scott was I believe 5th in the Ams. (Pedophile)Kyle J. took 6th in Am, but is currently deciding the move to pro as well. He did say that he wanted to win an Am event first, then he tried to say something else, but our yelling at him drowned out whatever it was he was saying. Newcomer to the scene, Courtney P. played here first P.D.G.A. event and took second place to Kathy D. (bagger wife). I would like to say that both Kathy and Courtney were scoring well enough to compete with Jo and Rene in the Pro women's division. Jo won that by the way, go Jo! I do like the fact that I was the first to yell "go pro" to Courtney. I could be mistaken, but I think Kathy might have actually beat the pro women. If that is true, that is baggin'! Tom Monroe won the Master's division, big surprise, hell, I only beat him by one stroke. Oh, I won open. Tim E. came in second, which was of no surprise to me, I kind of figured that with Scott R. not playing, Tim and I would sort of walk away with this one. We did. Meriwether is Tim's kind of course, accurate drives are good, but long accurate drives are great. Tim is long and accurate. Mike J. hit a 100'+ putt on the final hole to tie Rob N. for third place. It was one hell of a putt, but Rob was taught in the face. During the CTP for the ace fund, my shot landed in Tom Monroe's lap, that was pretty cool. Thanks to John, Patty and Larry for putting on a great show for us, we really appreciate it. Sign up early next year, this one filled up early and people were sent away. As a final note, I would like to make sure that everyone knows that I could be completely wrong about the scores and places, and that Kyle really isn't a pedophile, it just sounds cool ...pedophile Kyle. So to Kyle's parents, your son is okay.
