Worm on Bowling Green

Well after the tax tourney we headed out for a tournament that I hadn't played since 1996, the Bowling Green Open. The format was two days and four courses, just like the '96 version except for two of the courses were different. We got a tint job done to the van by Roady before the tournament had even started, a wonderful job if I might say. We also had a wonderful place to stay with Rocky Russell, his wife, and kid. Rocky also accommodated the likes of Climo, John E. McCray, Al, Sue, and Dave Greenwell. You are very appreciated, Rocky!

We started the tournament at the Hobson Grove course, which is a mostly wooded course with very little length. After the first round Larry Leonard was in the lead, but only by one with many following.  The second round was played at a wide open park called White Park, which had strong winds. I made a jump from the sixth card to the second card as we headed into Sunday.  Ron had the lead going into Sunday and the third round at Lovers Lane before cruising into a bigger lead for the last round.  I played on the second card again for the last round as I watched Eric Tracy play a great last round after scorching the 3rd round with a 12 under and busting into 2nd place. The finals took a while since there were 6 people playing in it with Ron coming out victorious and Eric got his chance to beat Ken for the first time.
