Worm on Ace Run

Following Seneca, we all headed to the Ace Run Ranch (We included the WinniCrew, Todd, Dave, and Avery, Al and Sue, and of course the Flying Eye team). We were greeted graciously by Ron Johnson and Franky, who are the owners of this wonderful piece of property including a disc golf course and their home. Don and his wife Franky were cool enough to let everyone set up camp in their backyard about 350 feet from hole number one's tee pad.

The tournament started Saturday with Al storming out of the gates with a -12 that I had to witness while scrapping for a -4. During the second round Cam took the lead now with Todd Branch in second, followed by Al. On Sunday the third round, Al Shot another great morning score to move up to second while Cam remained in the lead and Todd in third. During the last round Todd had a good round to move up and tie with Cam to send it to a playoff starting on hole #1. Hole #1 was about 650 feet with O.B. on the right and a mound on the left. The putting green was surrounded by a moat that had a radius of only about 18 feet from the pin to the edge of the moat, with the moat itself getting as wide as 8-10 feet. This hole was a disc eater. Cam and Todd decided to go for the 2 during the playoff for the $100 bounty. Both players missed their second shots and flew over the moat, and then proceeded to lay up for their bogies. On hole #2 Todd's drive was 35 feet short while Cam was 25 feet past the hole. Branch missed his putt and watched his disc roll about 40 feet past the hole, but jammed his comeback putt so Cam would have to make his putt. Cam made his 25 footer to claim victory at his first visit to the Ace Run Ranch.

The Ace Run Ranch was a very good tournament and everyone had a great time at the ranch.
